Every week, WoW Insider brings you Gold Capped, in which Fox Van Allen and Basil "Euripides" Berntsen aim to show you how to make money on the auction house. Feed Fox's ego by emailing him, tweeting him at @foxvanallen, or by showing up in Los Angeles next weekend to give him some IRL love.
One of the most important points to remember when reading this or any other Gold Capped article is that advice that works well for one server's economy won't necessarily work for another. I can make money all day long selling Mysterious Fortune Cards on my server, but on your server, you might find that there's just no profit to be had in selling them -- if they even sell at all.
Certainly, there are a lot of factors responsible for this. Individual sellers have individual personalities and individual strategies. But beyond this, whether or not you're playing on a high-population server has a major effect on strategy as well. On one server, there may be 10 different people regularly trying to sell Flask of the Draconic Mind. On another, there may be no sellers -- because there aren't any buyers. Server choice matters. A lot.
It's been a pretty slow week for priest-related news, so it looks like I'll finally be able to get back on schedule and finish my stat weight series. It's funny how class news always sweeps through like a tornado, grabbing up everything in its path for a short time before disappearing. Personally, I'd prefer something more consistent, but I guess the only way Blizzard could manage that is do away with the other nine classes and change the game to World of Priestcraft. One class, 30 different specs ("paladin" would be one of them), divided up between two factions: holy and shadow. It'd be like the Crusades, or Aion, except not as depressing as both of those were.Continue reading Spiritual Guidance: Holy priest stat weights revisitedFiled under: Priest, (Priest) Spiritual GuidanceSpiritual Guidance: Holy priest stat weights revisited originally appeared on WoW Insider on Mon, 10 Oct 2011 17:00:00 EST. In Two Bosses Enter, WoW Insider's series of fantasy death matches, the bosses of World of Warcraft face off in the squared circle. Your vote determines who wins and claims the season title.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, alts of all levels -- welcome to the Two Bosses Enter final rounds. It has been a tournament of ups and downs, crazy victories, and surprising results. There are only two matches left to determine who will face off in the final matchup to be this season's big winner. Now, a mechanical menace tries his luck against a gun-toting maniac. Who will win in a fight of deranged machine versus angry undead?
Zul'Gurub won out against Zul'Aman, as Zanzil easily trounced Jan'alai in last week's matchup. Zanzil has been a favorite for the entire tournament and has the highest potential to beat out everyone's favorite pantsless supervillain, Vanessa VanCleef. The finals have begun!
Every week, WoW Insider brings you Blood Pact for affliction, demonology and destruction warlocks. For those who disdain the watered-down arts that other cling to like a safety blanket ... For those willing to test their wills against the nether and claim the power that is their right ... Blood Pact welcomes you.
Patches are always trying times, more so for pure classes than any other. Hybrids benefit by generally only having a single DPS spec that Blizzard focuses on balancing; pures have to worry about which of their three specs is going to remain viable and scale well into the next raiding tier. While some of that is dependent upon the raw damage a spec is capable of putting out, many times the situation is far more complicated than that. Tier bonuses, encounter design, and gearing all play a vital role in determining which spec reigns supreme and which falls by the wayside.
Patch 4.3 is shaping up to be the most exciting and feature-filled of Cataclysm. Let's take a look at which features might impact your guild and how you can take advantage of them.
I have located a raid
The Raid Finder is not just for the guildless. Guilds can also take advantage of this new feature in several ways. The first and most obvious is that it will allow your raiders to get practice time on bosses for your own normal-mode raids. Since you don't get locked to the instance using the finder, you can see the mechanics ahead of time and still raid with your guild in the same week.

Robin may or may not rant later.
Dear Drama Mamas,
I'm wondering if others have been experiencing something similar to a new guild I recently tried out:
My wife and I have been looking for a new "home" to transfer to, since many of our RL friends hardly play, if at all, and our previous friends/family guild almost entirely perma-logged and moved on from WoW. We've been testing guilds by starting new toons and joining up to get a feel for the guild before dropping $$$ on transferring.
One such guild was suggested by a WoW Insider poster. At first it was exciting to be in a guild with someone who was about as big a WoW nerd as I was, but after joining their guild's Facebook page, it quickly went from good to bad. There were about 3-5 members who regularly trash-talked WoW and were eager to play something new/different. I got the feeling much of this trash-talking was intended to draw more WoW guildies away to play with them. The worst part was that the poster who got me into the guild had become one of them.Continue reading Drama Mamas: Dealing with WoW bashingFiled under: Analysis / Opinion, Drama MamasDrama Mamas: Dealing with WoW bashing originally appeared on WoW Insider on Mon, 10 Oct 2011 13:00:00 EST. Blizzard has just announced a companion pet called the Guardian Cub that you can purchase through the Blizzard store. Unlike previous pets, this companion pet will be a one-time-only use item and will not be Bind on Account. Additionally, this pet will be able to be traded to other players for gold.
Yes, you heard that right.
The pet will cost $10, and you can trade it to other people in game for whatever in-game currency or items you want.
Today's video is a treat from Greyfoo and Brunhila. While hosting an all-leather rogue show, the intrepid duo opts to seek out the meaning of life and the inevitable allure of druids. Specifically, they address the mystery of the Moonglade Beat.
Greyfoo created the machinima, and Brunhila provided additional vocals. As we've come to expect from Greyfoo, this video offers some incredible, gorgeous visuals. The song is smart and fun with a subtle, catchy beat. It's always exciting to see new material from him. Brunhila is a favorite of ours, also, and I'm particularly happy to see her collaborating with Greyfoo. It seems like a great match.
Kick back, relax, and enjoy a hippy-trippy time with Moonglade Beat.
Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at moviewatch@wowinsider.com.
Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.
This weekend was particularly light on answerable questions, so today's edition of The Queue will be a particularly light read. Embrace the brief!
Well, actually, it's not a lovely day in the woods, but it's pretty in a Halloween-type context. Edstrom of Blackmist Brigade on Darkmoon Faire (EU-A) took this intimidating glamor shot of his guild leader Wulfenbach with his ... uh, "mighty" axe Gorehowl. Can't they update these neat lore items from vanilla WoW and BC so they're no longer laughable? Grom Hellscream deserves a better legacy and a better weapon.
